Jovi: 13 years and counting

Again I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing one of Stephannie's amazing boys! This time her oldest, Jovi was about to turn 13 and she wanted to get some fun images of him. 13 can be a challenging age to capture. But thankfully this awesome young man has all ready had to put up with me and my crazy camera a few times.

Since he is into boogie boarding, we went down to Seal beach. The day was a bit chilly and we did most of his pictures on the pier but he idd og jump in the water for a few shots!

I wanted to get his personality to show in these images and I think we did a great job of that... he is a bit serious but really opens up when you tell him to have fun.



Kids love to jump.. Well even big kids, the ones my age... and it makes great pictures!

The Rice Family: Holiday Portraits

I have been really blessed this year with the beautiful people from my daughters school! Amber, Rick and their two boys, Quintin and Keaten make up this dynamic group of 4 well add Rascal their kitty in their and that a group of 5! We did this set of pictures at their home. There was no warming up for these two kiddos, as they are both all about having the attention on them. Shocking to me was Mr. Quintin, who was a total camera hog!!!! Please enjoy my favorites form the day:

We tried to get Rascal in there too, but I'm afraid I jinxed it by saying it would be easy.... not so much :) this is the best one we got outside and then he took off!

Kate and Family

A few months back my awesome client Stephannie decided to buy her cousin a portrait session. The session was for little Kate who is one of the most adorable little ladies I have ever photographed. When I contacted Kate's mom, Christine, she wanted to do some family photos as well and we were off to the park to get some fun moments together.

Rob + Jodi & family : portraits

Taking pictures of people I know is one of my favorite things about being a photographer. Where it is a wonderful thing to get to know a bride and her future husband before the wedding and take pictures of their day. It is even greater a pleasure to experience a portrait session with a family who I already know and love.
I have been bugging Jodi to have me capture her family pictures for I guess at least a year now. She was always telling me it would be a bigger challenge than I could anticipate. I assured her I could handle it and finally the timing worked perfectly and we were off! Since Jodi and Rob have put a lot of time and love into their new backyard, we shot their pictures right at their home. I have so many favorite images and had THE most fun taking pictures with all 5 of them. Especially Mr. Zack who was, as always a crazy little ham!!!!!!

Crazy Zack.. I'm not sure if I like him so darn much due to the fact of having my own Zach or because he has been in Susie's class for 2 years and is so entertaining. I counld never get enough of working with him in class. SO here he is not being a crazy ham! Jus to prove I can control my subject... sometimes.....



And Nick.. with a true smile on! I'm sure your mom is happy!

Garcia Family Pictures

It was such a great honor to photograph this awesome little family. Robert, Samantha ans Lily were too much fun! They were warning me about the ability of baby Lily to realize the camera is there and then not smile.. but after learning her tricks.. I soon came up with some of my own. Robert and Sam wanted a few of the 3 together and then a bunch of Lily. She was so adorable in her little red holiday dress. Here are my top images of the shoot:

Garcia Family Portraits: sneek peek

I had the best time today with Robert, Samantha and Lily. You might remember Robert and Samantha from their wedding last year. I was so happy to get to shoot their family pictures with the beautiful miss Lily! She is so darn cute, I could take her picture all day long! Samantha and Robert warned me that she is very aware of the camera and will be all smiles until that shutter snaps. Well, yes she was a bit non interested in my camera and would much rather study it instead of smile at it. But, we used all our photographer and parent powers combined and managed to get many smiles on camera of this little lady! We met at the beautiful Scripps College campus in Claremont, I can't get enough of this campus. It's almost like being in downtown Pasadena... almost!

Meet the Soliven Family

Say hello to one of my favorite families! I met the Soliven's a couple of years ago before the youngest member of the crew was around. Now they are a fantastic family of 5 who are all realy fun.. really creative.. and really cool to be around. I have been bugging Kathy to let me take her babes pictures for a while. They kind of remind me of my own family.. well not that I'm saying all that about myself, but that we have the same interests and the dynamics are a bit alike. You'll see below how their great personalites each shine brightly on their own and how that light just adds to the beauty of them all mixed up together.. Ok now that Kathy and Mike have all that great mushy stuff to tease me about writing.. here are the images from their day. Enjoy!

Kathy and Mike are, like I said, too much fun! Mike likes to tease people and this makes me think Kathy has her hands full... all the time..

I think little Danica might be trying to escape.. or maybe wondering why her siblings are sitting still and smiling.. someone should have told her to get with the program!



Looks like she got the message.. I guess she had other plans.. But when you're this cute you can get away with pretty much everything!



Someone really gets it now and is trying to steal the show.
