I have always held a special spot in my heart for a certain actor. I enjoy the roles he chooses to become and his views he shares about life in general. A few of my all time faves of his are Catch Me if You Can & Blood Diamond & The Aviator .
Here is a link to his website where you can see what the wonderful and talented Mr Leonardo DiCaprio has been doing lately. Oh and, aside from the year, we share the same birthday!
This picture, for the record is from the www... not one of mine. But, One day, I will have the honor of photographing this interesting man.
Way back in May, You may remember, I took newborn pictures of baby Justin and his family. Well, i promised his beautiful mom, Stephannie, that we would do holiday pictures with the 5 of them. So, here are a few of my favorites from the day as well as a slide show for fun!
Last week I was mad at my DVR box for not recording my shows, but I still wanted to watch something good! So, I splurged and ordered a movie from the on demand list. Funny how my DVR can't work properly but can always offer me the shows that I have to pay for! Anyway, I hadn't yet seen Even Almighty, and had been wanting to far a long time. We don't really get out to the theatre, having 2 small children makes it tricky and we always miss them while enjoying a show. So, most of our major motion picture viewing is done from our home. I decided to watch Evan Almighty for the very reasonable price of $3.95.
My reasons for wanting to see this movie were abundant. First of all the fabulous actress Lauren Graham is a co-star and I LOVE her! Second, I thought the preceding movie, Bruce Almighty was hilarious and i figured this one would be as well. And third, my favorite band, Rascall Flatts, has a song in the movie! Not just any song... A remake of the famous song created by the most amazing band who ever played, The Beatles!!! They recorded Revolution, click here to see how the rock it out!!! Finally, this movie had me laughing a lot! It also had me Crying a lot too. For a movie you would go to see because it seems to be easy going and light and sure to bring happiness to your heart. Well, yes this is what it did for me. It really got me thinking, and I love when you see something and can't get it our of your head. Take this, A.R.K. and then see the movie and come to me a tell me what you think. It was shocking for a message so strong to come from a film like this, especially because Bruce Almighty had its messages, but none that stuck a cord like Evan Almighty. I don't want to give anything away if you haven't seen it. But please if you have been putting it off or just aren't interested, it's worth it! It will get you thinking about your family and your friends, but most importantly, the people you don't know. It will get that holiday spark going for you. So, then decide on your A.R.K. and go do it! Here is a trailer of the movie
I highly suggest this movie. It is way cleaner than Bruce Almighty! But, still just as funny! Plus you are gaurenteed to come away from it with more than just 90 minutes of great entertainment.
I am truly enjoying this once every-day posting gig! Being able to post a lot of personal goods up here is fun for me because I hope it gives my clients (you all out there) a chance to get to know me a bit more.I have so much work I am going trough at this moment and to escape it for a few minutes each day is perfect. Weird though how my work (this blog) is now my escape from work!!!! I spend a lot of time asking you questions and learning about your personalities, this is where you can learn more of who I am. So, i wanted to post this in September, but the time slipped by too fast. First but not the most important by far, would have to be my Blackberry Curve! I love it because it lets me live life and still get any uber important messages that have special requests or time limitations!!! Plus it hold a lot of stuff.... I have a 2 gb card in it! Who would have ever thought of a 2 gb memory card for a cell phone? second: But on the very top of my list and from the whole entirety of my heart... is my babes! Susie is a hair stylist! Poor baby brother! third: ahhhhhhhhh the rain.. It finally came to us during the very end of the month. I love rain! It is my most favorite thing. I can do anything in the rain. i especially love going to Disneyland in the rain! :) Forth: and no particular order for these items (except for the babes) RASCAL FLATTS released their new CD!!!!! I' love it even more than the last 4 albums. They keep getting better!
And some lyrics from my fave song off that CD, Still feels good....... :) Well, that was my September. With a few things left out. Oh and I have to mention my all time favorite thing which can't be ranked or categorized, my hubby, Alex!
Yesterday we had a home-made dinner celebration for Zachary's 2nd birthday. I made enchiladas for the first time in our new place (not so new.. we have lived here since may ) with the much appreciated help of my baby sister Robbi. Since we went for a not so over the top party, I felt at least getting some festive kid plates etc was necessary! This picture is in the wrong spot. He did this at the end of the night after dinner and dessert, but I wanted you all to laugh first, cause Zach cries in this post!
His place-mat that he picked out from target (thanks Taren, Jeremy and Kenna) and his Sponge-Bob cake I made just for him!
Zach getting acquainted with his cake before we lit the candles.
Me comforting him because he started crying when we turned out the light and started singing happy birthday. I love how Susie is leaning over all concerned to see how her baby brother is doing! =)
So we held him close and sang again with the lights on. But he did the lip thing again and we just let the song go! I love this picture below ( thanks Robbi)
Me feeding my big boy his sponge bob topping!
I can't believe he is 2!!!!!! He is so much fun. I love being a mom. I LOVE my kids so much!!!!1
So, you know everybody has one.. or maybe two! Mine is that during my 4 fabulous years of that unforgettable era everyone goes though called HIGH SCHOOL, I was a member of the school marching band. Well, technically I was in drum line, which is way cooler then band. (but I think having to justify that makes if not cool in itself) Anyway, Alex and I actually met in high school and were in band together. We didn't start dating until 1997, which was 10 years ago, and makes me feel really old when I say I have been with my hubby for that long! WOW! So, he was in drum line as well (another cool kid). We have always wanted to go to a band competition with our daughter, and never did. Then when our son was born we again told ourselves to get out and see the bands.. Finally we did it this year. We barely made it though because the season starts in October and ends before Christmas. We figured going to the big show which we knew as TOC (tournament of champions) would be best. I searched for it on Google and everywhere else, but the competition ceases to exist! What I did find was another version of the same thing. So we packed up the kids and all our needs for the day and headed out the Corona for the Marching band performances at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. For those of you not in California, we just got our first (and probably only) cold spell of the year. It rained all day Friday and was Freezing on Saturday. It was fun to sit in the stands all day and cuddle close to my family. This was our fun day for Zach's 2nd birthday as well, which, in my mind, totally beats out Chuck e Cheese! We specifically chose this performance site because our High School, Charter Oak, was performing. For the past few years we have seen their band at parades and been quite sad at the size and abilities of the group. But this year it was an honor to say we went there and are "with the band". They placed 1st in colorgaurd and Band for the 1A division! Yippee for us... I mean them!. I know this might sound corny to some, but we aren't too big on sports or that type of thing in our house. We were thrilled to hear Susie say she wanted to play those big drums when she gets to High school! we'll see how that goes when the time comes. So here are a few fun images from our adventure on Saturday December 1st at the SCSBOA 2007 Field Championships. Charter Oak Performoming their award winning show: and another of COHS And a fave from the night show, William Hart High School
And a short video for those of you who have no idea what a marching band performance is!
2 years ago today, Alex and I welcomed our 2nd child into this world. We can not beleive that the time has passed so quickly! I know every parent says this, but if you don't have kids yet, you will one day understand. I can't even begin to put into words how my little boy makes me feel. Amazing is a pretty good one. He is so full of life and love and energy. He is curious and smart and often a word used is BIZZARE! He does the strangest things. For instance, he likes to clean things. This is nice becuase I'm not a perfect housekeeper. He is potty training himself and has been for about 2 months now. This is great because I wasn't even going to try until he was a bit closer to 3 years of age. He doesn't have a giant vocabulary like his older sister did at his age. But this is good as well because he is a touchy feely little guy and he will drag me around the house telling me what he needs in his own cute ways. Oh and if you know me, you would agree that I (and my hubby and daughter) would much rather stay up late and sleep in the next day while the world buzzes around. On the other side... bringing a much welcomed balance to our group..... Zach is up early even on weekends asking me to get him "food". We are so blessed and thankful for the beautiful, healthy, happy family we have been given! Here are some beautiful pictures my good friend Amelia took of him when he was still itty bitty! Thank you Amelia for giving me these awesome pictues that I will cherish forever! Here are couple of pictures from his early years.
Susie was the first one to hold he baby brother.
And here are more recent ones of my little sweetie:
And this one was taken just after midnight on his 2nd birthday. Sleeping with one of Grammy's penguins. Or as Zach would say, "paybe?"
I have many passions. My first love is my family and knowing that I serve them by following a great God! Photography is not a job for me, It is a part of who I am. Taking pictures is in my heart and so much a part of how I see life. I love capturing everyday moments that remind us years from now just how our kids were and what love looked like at that moment in time. I don't want to get you just a photo to hang in your home! I want you to wallpaper your home with photos of your love.
